Mary Lopez AM, was presented the Ted Albert Award For Outstanding Service To Australian Music at the 2012 APRA Music Awards.
The recipient of the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music is chosen by APRA’s Board of Writer and Publisher Directors for their contribution in shaping and developing the Australian music landscape.The Award is named after Ted Albert, whose company Albert Productions, released records by The Easybeats, AC/DC and John Paul Young and has been bestowed upon some of Australia’s most respected music heavyweights including Don Burrows, Paul Kelly, Slim Dusty, Denis Handlin AM, Triple J, Bill Armstrong, Michael Chugg and the late Jimmy Little.
Mary’s passion for promoting and nurturing young people, no matter what their circumstances, continues to shine through after 30 years in the industry. She has been responsible for more than 60 significant productions and helped identify and launch the careers of some of Australian music’s best known performers. The award also recognises Mary’s ongoing work with the Talent Development Project, of which she is Founder, Artistic Director and CEO.
TDP Graduate, Felicity Urquhart presented Mary with her award at the 2012 APRA Music Awards on Monday 28th of May, 2012.
