Mary Lopez AM has been behind dozens of major public events in Australia, involving high profile entertainers, as well as talented youth. Her passion and commitment to the Music and Entertainment Industry has helped to shape the Events, Music and Entertainment Industries as they stand today. Her productions are of an International standard due to the wealth of knowledge and expertise that she developed over her career.
Her significant productions from 1984 – 2008 include 25 Schools Spectaculars, 10 ‘An Australian Christmas’ pageants at Darling Harbour, ‘NSW Premier’s Concerts’, Australia Day Ceremonies for the NSW Government, the ‘World Indigenous People’s Conference’ Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the ‘Australia Day Concert’ at the World Expo in Tsukuba, Japan, the ‘Papal Welcome’ and ‘Celebration for the Beatification of Mary MacKillop’, and ‘Jubilee 2000′ at Sydney Super Dome featuring more than 20,000 young performers from Catholic schools.
The focus of her work was to create and direct productions celebrating a proud Australia, that were inclusive of groups that had been left out of standard expressions of Australian cultural life. Mary’s work has always featured and promoted the richness of Australia’s indigenous cultures, the abilities of disabled groups, and the cultural diversity of ethnic minorities.
